Today was really really hard to get out of bed. It didn't help that I knew my girlfriend would get to stay in bed and sleep longer since she had the day off. I kept hitting the snooze button until I finally rolled over to get up. My dog was there to greet me and wanting to be let out. I sat there and petted him for a moment while I try to wake up a little more. I was so annoyed I had to get up and work, more annoyed then usual. I muttered to Paige who was half awake, from my alarm going off for the 3rd time, "if we get reincarnated when we die I better come back as a fuking dog, they get to sleep all day"
Then I realized if that did happen I would probably get screwed and come back as a working dog.
They last day of work before a long weekend is the worse.... I will truck through it and know I have a Bud Light and a well rested dog waiting for me!

Open Letter
Dear co-workers who insist on talking REALLY REALLY LOUD,
You are rude.
I have my mp3 player on fairly loud but I can still hear you talking (screaming?) over the cubes. Holding conversations over 2 rows of cubes, is in fact...RUDE! You are not special. You are disturbing the other people in this office and I am not the only one who is annoyed! We do not care to hear about your diet, your bratty kids or your lame jokes. Seriously, we don't. Your cute voices you make up... are just annoying! I want to shove a #2 pencil in my ear just to make your voice go away.

Manny
For those of you who do not know me, baseball is my favorite sport. I grew up playing and watching it. To me football is just a filler sport until spring training.
Yesterday was an extremely hard day for me. Manny Ramirez was suspended for 50 games due to testing positive for a banned substance.
Manny is my all time favorite baseball player. He is the greatest right handed hitter of this generation of baseball. I have always defended him for some of his antics, weather he was right or wrong... Manny being Manny. He had never been linked to steroids until yesterday. I took great pride in that. The substance he tested positive for wasn't steroids or HGH but it is very incriminating. I don't really want to get into the details... I still have hope it was prescribed for a legit medical reason.
The thing that makes it sooo hard for me is Manny is a hitting savant. He was meant to play baseball. He was put on this earth to hit a baseball. He has perfect balance at the plate. His swing is as close to perfection as it could be. He is so patient at the plate, he sits and waits for the pitcher to make a mistake. He never forces anything. It is said Manny will set up pitchers by swinging at certain pitches so he know he will get that pitch again later in the at bat or in the game. He watches film of every pitcher and spends more time in the batting cage perfecting the art of hitting, more then any other player.
He didn't need to cheat.
Yesterday sucked. I had people emailing, texting, calling me and asking if I had heard... It was honestly worse then finding out Santa was not real or that strippers are really just after my money and do not really like me. It hurt. Every time I received that call or text I would get more mad... I was in a bad mood all day. My girlfriend finally told me, "you aren't having a bad day... Manny Ramirez is having a bad day." made me laugh cause its true. I feel like I have been cheated on.... that sick feeling of disbelief.
it just eats at me though... HE DIDNT NEED TO CHEAT!
Don't get me wrong, Manny is still a baseball god to me. Will I continue to defend him? absolutely. Honestly, what makes Manny great, steroids can not improve. He will serve his 50 games and come back blazing, I guarantee that. Manny will be on a mission to prove his skills and ability again.
I actually had a couple people text to make sure I was alive today haha I have good friends!
If it comes out that Ken Griffey Jr was on roids, I will need to be talked off the ledge....

Price is Right
I just read that Bob Barker will be releasing his memoir, "Priceless Memories" on April 6th. I honestly might buy this. I love the Price is Right. Easily the greatest game show EVER! and I am willing to fight anyone who disagrees. Unless you are bigger, stronger, a trained fighter or a girl... Then we can just agree to disagree.
I can not tell you how many summer mornings I spent at 10 am in front of the tv watching this show. Even if I faked being sick from school, I always made sure I was able to watch the Price is Right.
When Bob announced he would be retiring it was a hard day. I knew it was coming but it still felt like when you know you have to take the dog to the vet to go to doggy heaven. I dreaded the day. This show was my childhood, teen years and even some of my adult years, although I didn't get to watch as much in recent years due to something called a job. I hate you responsibility. It's been 2 years since he left the show. I know what you are thinking, "but it is still on, you can still watch it!" Not in my eyes it isn't. Drew Carey sucks. Drew Carey is horrible as the host. He fumbles his way through every episode, it is almost uncomfortable to watch. His jokes are lame, he messes up regularly.... he has ruined the show for me.
I no longer tune in on days off. In fact it doesn't even register any more that 10 am is Price is Right time. sad.
BUT Bob will be on the show April 16th to promote his book. (was already recorded) Maybe I will play hooky to watch....

Annoying Rant #1: briefcases with a retractable handle
I work in a corporate environment so it is very common to see a man in a suit carrying a briefcase. Nothing wrong with that. I do have an issue when I see a man (or a woman) with a briefcase.... TOWING IT BEHIND THEM WITH A RETRACTABLE HANDLE AND WHEELS.
You look like a complete dousche bag! Are your papers or lap top that heavy that you need to drag it behind you on wheels??? You look like a fucking child going to kindergarten.
I understand some people might be flying in and are coming from the airport with their carry on. I am fine with that. I only have the issue with the briefcases that have wheels and a retractable handle.
I have witness a grown ass man (many of them) stop at the stairs, retract the handle into the briefcase, walk down the stairs, set the brief case down and retract the handle and carrying on walking, while dragging it behind him. He went a good 60 feet maybe to his conference room! YOU MIGHT AS WELL FUCKING START SKIPPING!!! YOU LOOK REDICULOUS!!!!
Please please, I am begging you.... put a stop to this.
Man up and carry your god damn briefcase.

vending machine pops
about a year and a half ago the cost of a pop in the vending machine went up from $1.00 to $1.25 at work. An email was sent out saying the price had not risen in years and due to the high cost of gas it had to be raised to $1.25. I understood this, it was a little annoying to have to have an extra quarter to get my Mountain Dew but yet I understood and didn't bitch too much.
Yes, I know pop is really bad for you and I have actually cut back on drinking it. ALOT. but some times there is a morning or an afternoon when I need some caffeine to keep me awake!
So I recently noticed that the cost of pop is now $1.35!!! WHAT AN OUTRAGE! I'm calling bull shit on this now!!! I sat by and took the cost increase from $1.00 to $1.25 but I will not sit quietly on this one!!! The cost of gas is WAY down then where it was a year ago. We are in an economic recession!!! I understand Pepsi and Coke might be hurting but raising their prices I don't think is the answer!
I'm no economist by any means..... I'm sure they did their homework and found that people who pay $1.25 for a 20oz pop will still pay a $1.35. but seriously.... FUCK YOU! yes, it is only a dime but it is the moral of the thing!
I was just told I do not get a pay raise or bonus for 2009 and you get an 8% raise? FUCK YOU.
I would like to say I am no longer going to buy their product but it's not true.... HOWEVER!!!! I will no longer be smiling when I push the C8 button for my Mountain Dew any more!!!! (until I have that first sip) FUCK YOU!

MySpace vs. Facebook
Well I have given in and created a Facebook. I have had a MySpace for a couple years and I liked it, entertained me. I owe MySpace for me getting and staying in touch with Paige so I am grateful for that!
Everyone kept telling me how great Facebook is... So I figured I would see what I was missing out on. The first thing I did was check out all the people I went to high school with.... and I was AMAZED how many people were on Facebook vs MySpace! Holy crap... People who I haven't seen in years and lots of people who I have no idea who they are! haha
I have slowly started my quest of requesting their "friendships". Reading all the News and Status updates of people is entertaining.
But I think I know why woman prefer Facebook now over MySpace.... Facebook has made gossiping really really easy! You can find out what people are doing, what people you do not know are saying about someone you know REALLY easy. Woman are nosey and love to be up in peoples business. Facebook has made this simple.
